My research focuses on the analysis of brain connectivity using diffusion MRI. In particular, I'm looking at ways of performing longitudinal assessment of brain connectivity. This area involves striving for better quantification on connectivity results from tractography and better image registration methods for diffusion MRI in the face of changing neuroanatomy.
I did my undergrad in Computing Science at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. As part of my undergrad, I completed an internship at Red Hat in Toronto where I worked on the Red Hat Database Graphical Toolkit as well as the Tree-SSA optimizers in the GNU Compiler Collection (GCC).
After sixteen months at Red Hat and finishing my undergrad, I began my Master's degree in Computing Science at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Under the supervision of Dr. Xiaobo Li, I published three papers in refereed conferences and was nominated for departmental research and M.Sc. Thesis awards. I also received a departmental award nomination for my TA work under the supervision of Dr. Paul Lu. Throughout my Master's program, I was supported financially by scholarships from NSERC and iCore.
In early 2008, I accepted a Ph.D. position in the Medical Image Analysis Lab at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby. I began my studies there that fall under the supervision of Dr. Ghassan Hamarneh analyzing brain connectivity using Diffusion MRI.
